St. Augustine, Florida, is small but lively historic waterfront community. We have it all -- famed attractions, ghost tours, food tours, wine tours, Segway tours, trolley tours, kayak tours, a pirate ship, starving artists, high-end galleries, fine dining, street-side cafes, a 4-year liberal arts college, dinner theatre, opera, concerts in the plaza, and music at the beach! And each year in May, we have one of the best festivals you’ll ever attend! People come from everywhere in the world to experience St. Augustine’s Romanza Festivale – a 10-day mega celebration featuring 80+ celebratory events of live performances, chamber music, an organ crawl, theatre, dance, visual arts, food, history and culture. Accommodations in St Augustine are hard to come by in peak season (December through May), especially during festival time. The place to stay is Bayfront Westcott House. This St. Augustine waterfront historic home was built in 1880 and offers 16 luxurious rooms; a complimentary gourmet breakfast each morning; on-the-house early-evening beer, wine, and nibbles; and a fabulous front-seat view of the grand Bridge of Lions and majestic Matanzas Bay.

Right as we arrived, Joy and the other staff working (Embarrassed to not remember her name I think it was Lisa, she was the best) they were already running out to where we parked to put coins in the meter for us. Offered us something to drink as well as gave us a bunch of information regarding the B&B and St Augustine. We knew where we were eating that night within 5 minutes of arriving thanks to their help.
When we were brought to the room it was breath taking. Very romantic along with the rose pedals in a heart shape on the bed that I added on and the cheese/fruit tray. Pictures on the website do NOT do this room justice. Great view of the bay, HUGE copper soaking tub and HUGE walk in shower with a king size bed. The bed and linen were so comfortable, we took a nap for a couple of hours right as we laid in it.
Although we weren't able to make the story/folk lore session provided by Westcott, we went ahead and went about for the night with our reservations and tickets that were provided. After our night out, we came back to a quiet and cozy room to enjoy the B&B itself.
The breakfast the next morning is served restaurant style as they say. Not like a regular hotel. They have a table already setup for you, bring you your drinks and whatever your ordered off of the breakfast menu from the night before. We had the eggs Benedict along with a fruit cup and coffee. Never having eggs Benedict before, along with I personally disliking eggs, they were absolutely delicious. Joy even brought us a second serving. All while were enjoying our breakfast, we didn't even have to worry about the car parked in the meter out front. That was already paid by the staff.
I felt almost guilty on how much we were waited on and taken care of by the staff. What a place. As someone who has worked previously in hospitality for over 2 years, this place is the bests I've seen.
We will definitely be back to visit and check out the other room.
Thank you for making this trip special for us."
