To name (and define) just a few of the Greek treats you'll enjoy at the festival ...
Dolmathes (dol-MAH-thes). These tender and delicious stuffed grape leaf rolls are stuffed with a hearty meat and rice filling and are commonly served as a main entree.
Gyro (jīrō). A type of meat, served in an oiled, lightly-grilled piece of pita, rolled up with various salads and sauces, meats, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.
Loukoumades (lou-kou-math-es). Donut-like desserts that resemble donut holes but are usually topped with honey and powdered sugar.
Pastitsio (pahs-TEET-see-yoh). A creamy, cheesy baked pasta dish traditionally made with large tubular pasta, a meat, and tomato sauce, and topped with a thick béchamel sauce.
Souvlaki (so͞ovˈläkē). Meat grilled on a skewer ((pork or chicken),
Spanakopita (spa·na·ko·pi·ta). A phyllo (a dough stretched into thin sheets and used in layers) pastry stuffed with spinach and feta cheese.
Tiropita (tee- row -pee-ta). Layers of buttered phyllo and filled with a cheese-egg mixture.
Other favorites Greek foods available will include salad, calamari, rizi, grilled lamb, and for the kids chicken strips and fries. Pastries. Imported Greek beer and wine. Greek coffee, Greek Frappuccino, American coffee, Frappe (iced coffee), Cordials, and Baklava Sundaes!
The Bakaliko (grocery) will have various items imported from Greece like cheese, drinks, pasta, and olive oil.
The Agora (or market) will feature Greek imports like books, music, clothing, etc.
